Working from home. It’s different when you’re an artist.
David Condamine is a professional artist. So are his friends George and Em. They’ve known each other for years and they all attend the opening of David’s new exhibition. Gallery assistant Felicity is there to look after David for the evening, and as the consummate professional she does not let on what she thinks about anything, not even David. But David is not so discreet and when they are all once again in their studios, emersed in the next round of work, the others keep an eye out for developments, if any.
Artist’s model Mimi appears to be the only one who remains unfazed, and David continues to paint with another one of his exhibitions taking shape, this time in New York. So, everyone moves their attention to outside the studio, which may or may not be as interesting, or as personal, as what’s going on inside it.
A novel about love, friendship and work.
